Born in Santiago de Cuba Marco trained from early childhood in the musical arts, as a composer he was destined to become on of Cuba's most outstanding composers, ranking with the legendary Roldan and Caturla as a master of orchestration.  As a pianist who could easily play any style of classical or popular music, Marco came to be known as the "Pan-American Eclectic."  One renowned musician pointed out that , as a arranger at the keyboard, Marco was a infinite source of improvisation.  As an artist and a person he is unforgettable.
